Chinese Antique Pottery

Chinese antique pottery is the oldest artwork of people in China. According to archeological findings, Chinese antique potteries were first produced around 8000 years back in the Neolithic Age. Chinese antique pottery is the perfect example of brilliant artistic skills of Chinese potters at the time. Ancient archeologist studies reveal that early pots were made with hand before the invention of pottery wheel, by coiling clay into ropes and then carefully smoothening it using a paddle on the exterior, pressing it against an anvil on the interior wall and finally molding them to different shapes to create vessels for cooking and storing purposes. The technique became more consummate as time passed by.

Chinese antique pottery is believed to have gained its intensity of creativity in the successive dynasties when different varieties of antique potteries such as tri-color potteries and purple clay potteries flourished. Chinese antique potteries still retains its artistic beauty and holds great honor in world history.
