Contemporary Chinese Pottery

Contemporary Chinese pottery is created by Chinese artists  who love to experiment with new innovative designs, structural forms, attractive colors and glazes, styles, and firing techniques unlike the traditional pots made by older Chinese generations. Contemporary Chinese pottery supports modern styles- some what western and includes strange and eccentric shapes, patterns, colors and formation with stunning visual impacts. They integrate traditional ideas and elements with contemporary arts to improve their creativity. These potteries are dominantly used as precious ornamental elements or exhibitory specimens.

Contemporary Chinese pottery supports distorted shapes and outstanding visual effects in their artworks derived from western concepts. Some potteries still display traditional Chinese art elements with Chinese flavor from Neolithic and Tang dynasty. Unlike traditional potteries that used limited raw materials that were available those days, the creation of contemporary Chinese potteries have plentiful modern technological tools to make use of. Leaving behind China’s 7000 years of Chinese pottery tradition, contemporary artists have been skillfully designing aesthetically sophisticated artworks.
